WHY INSTALL A STEAM WATER ANALYSIS SYSTEM?

Protecting your boiler and maintaining the most efficient operation requires real time monitoring of the water quality used in the system. For example, maintaining the correct pH and Conductivity can decrease your maintenance costs and increase the life expectancy of the equipment. Unfortunately, measurements such as pH, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and Turbidity cannot operate at typical temperature and pressures of most boiler systems which makes it difficult to obtain real-time data to control the operation. This leads many facilities to resort to taking infrequent grabs samples and missing changes in the water quality. This can lead to corrosion and pitting throughout the steam water circuit, a very costly problem to correct.

SWAS panels solve this dilemma. Extracting a continuous stream from the boiler system allows a SWAS panel to cool the sample and reduce the pressure to safe levels for the measurements. Real-time monitoring can then be used to control chemical dosing and blowdowns.
