SUMMARY

Commissions, calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs a variety of equipment in processes on-site for industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical and municipal customers. All of the following duties shall be performed in a timely manner and with minimum interruption to customer’s processes.

  • Commissions, calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs a variety of flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, chart recorders, controllers and valves to meet customer’s requirements.
  • Visually inspects, tests and recommends changes to insure required installation meets manufactures’ standards for operation.
  • Observes processes, apply and develop tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipment, prepare reports and discuss findings with customer or sales representative, make changes or adjustments to improve operation or offer a course of action to resolve problems.
  • Dismantles defective instrumentation and equipment and replace with new or repaired parts per the manufactures’ procedures.
  • Assembles, repairs and/or replaces related instrumentation and associated equipment.
  • Directs installers on the proper placement of equipment according to drawings and equipment manufactures’ recommendation.
  • Advises customer of proper installation requirements.
  • Confers with other Field Service Technicians, manufactures representatives and customers in person and/or over the telephone to diagnose instrumentation and equipment malfunctions and provide technical solutions to resolve complex instrumentation and equipment requirements.
  • Trains customer's representative(s) on the proper use, troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and prepare related materials for spare parts.
  • Analyzes reports of technical issues to determine trends that affect future design, production, service and maintenance procedures and provide recommendations to management.
  • Prepares service handbooks and bulletins based on field investigations, engineering changes and overall knowledge of the product.
  • Prepares various reports to include service trips, expenses, calibration, troubleshooting, or other reports requested by management.
  • Requisitions parts, tools and materials as needed through submission of completed Field Requisition Form.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, customers and others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conforms with all safety rules and uses appropriate safety equipment, if any.

  • Measures and marks pipes for cutting to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches and benders.
  • Assembles and secures pipes, tubes, couplings, fittings and related equipment (automatic controls, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.) according to specifications.
  • Cuts and bores holes in structures, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools.
  • Utilizes all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems, pipe fittings and threaded fittings including butt weld and socket weld.
  • Plumbs and squares fittings.
  • Prepares and cleans assembly for welding.
  • Confers with Piping Designer(s) to define and solve manufacturing/design issues.
  • Operates overhead crane, forklift, lift trucks or hand trucks to move skid and/or related parts to proper work area.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

Facilitating institutional sales and engineered specifications in the region by working with the independent Armstrong sales representatives and distributors in the territory along with Armstrong factory personnel.

 

Responsibilities include growing revenue by securing institutional new construction and engineered renovation projects and maintaining current key end-user accounts while developing new end-user sales at institutional customers.  The “Institutional” Market includes, but is not limited to: Colleges, Universities, Healthcare, Hotels, Condominiums, Apartments, Museums, Sports Arenas & Convention Centers, Military Housing, Prisons and General Education.  Institutional new construction will be the primary focus and is most commonly designed and specified by consulting engineer firms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and there is some flexibility in the hours allowed but individuals in this position typically work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

Minimum Education/Experience

Proven experience calling upon consulting engineers.

3 years minimum successful sales experience with background in institutional sales channel.

Technical knowledge of institutional systems and applications.

SUMMARY

Assembly of Electrical Control Panels, Junction Boxes and some wire harnesses from prints. This position is responsible for the physical assembly and wiring of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel and wiring of all components. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures
  • Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
  • Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
  • Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & Instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
  • Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
  • Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion
  • Communicates effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers and the Project Manager
  • Operates overhead crane, forklift, lift trucks or hand trucks to move panel and/or related parts to proper work area.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area ensuring aisles, doorways, fire extinguishers, breaker boxes, etc. are clear from debris and equipment.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, customers and others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conforms to all safety rules and uses appropriate safety equipment, if any.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for executing sales strategy and initiating contact with existing and potential customers in a specified territory for the sale of Carotek mechanical equipment including pumps, blowers, heat exchangers and services.  Acting as a consultative business partner, problem solver, trusted advisor and technical expert in the application of our products, the person in this position will assist customers in the application of the products and services to meet their needs resulting in revenue generation.
