Food and beverage processes can be water intensive, generating high volumes of wastewater with high levels of total suspended solids (TSS) and biological oxygen demand (BOD). Even after the primary process of solids removal, high strength wastewater can cause challenges with wastewater storage, odors, and high surcharge rates and discharge fees to comply with regulations.

BioGill Tower and Tower Plus bioreactor units harness natural microbiological processes to provide cost-effective BOD wastewater treatment solutions that can scale as needed.

BioGill Tower/Tower Plus Bioreactor Benefits

  • Smallest scalable BioGill bioreactor unit
  • Versatile to fit tight spaces or to be raised on platforms to reduce footprint
  • Ideal for low-volume facilities or for adding capacity to existing BOD treatment processes

Tower Components

The BioGill Tower is a compact and scalable bioreactor including the basic treatment unit. Components include:

  • BioGill Tower bioreactor
  • (optional) Primary packaged solution add-on, including screen, feed pump, pH controller, and PLC

Tower Plus Components

The BioGill Tower Plus packaged solution includes the Tower bioreactor along with pumps and a tank, which enables quick installation of a complete solution. These units can be arranged in single- and multi-stage configurations depending on flow, loading, and removal requirements. Components include:

  • BioGill Tower bioreactor
  • Recirculation pump
  • Recirculation tank
  • Tower stand
  • Power isolator
  • (optional) Primary packaged solution add-on, including screen, feed pump, pH controller, and PLC
  • Small scale Food & Beverage producers with low volume, high BOD & COD wastewater
  • Breweries
  • Wineries
  • Small scale municipal sewage systems
  • Decentralized sewage systems

In addition, BioGill bioreactors can provide a performance boost to septic systems and existing wastewater treatment plants.
