LIQUID PUMP TYPES

What type of pump is most commonly used in industry ?

Industrial Pumps are based on two main mechanical principles.

Centrifugal Pumps are the most common type of pump used in industry due to their low maintenance, design and operation simplicity, high efficiency for thinner liquids, and lower cost.  These pumps use a rotating impeller to draw fluid in creating centrifugal force, which then moves the fluid through the pump and through the outlet and on to it’s next destination on the process line.

Positive-displacement pumps are the second most common, being better at ensuring constant flow at medium to high pressures and highly efficient for thicker liquids.  These pumps move fluids by cyclically enclosing a fixed volume inside the pump chambers and moving it mechanically with pistons, screws, gears, rollers, diaphragms, or vanes.

What are the different types of industrial pumps ?  Which pumps are used in industry ?

There are many different types of both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, as well as a few that use less common operating principles. Carotek's expertise covers the complete range of industrial pumps, municipal pumps and commercial pumps, as well as pump packages & systems.  Pumps are a basic part of our world's infrastructures today.  Industrial pumps are found in most manufacturing facilities worldwide.  Commercial pumps serve institutions and high density residential complexes.  Municipal pumps keep potable water flowing to homes around the nation and transport wastewater to municipal water facilities for treatment.  Carotek offers the following types of fluid pumps from various manufacturers.
