QA Technician/Inspector

Education and Experience
  • Manufacturing or engineering background.
  • Basic understanding of Piping systems, valves, fittings and process equipment components.
  • Understanding of industry standards including ASME, ANSI, NDE and welding requirements according to ASME Section VIII standards.
  • Knowledge of Document requirements including Test Certifications, Material Test Reports, Positive Material Identification, and welding examinations according to NDE standards.
  • Basic understanding of fluid dynamics including flow, pressure, temperature and ANSI equipment and piping component requirements to meet conditions of service.

Job Description

  • Receipt inspection – Inspect incoming components to see that equipment meets the description of the Purchase Order. This includes equipment model numbers, serial numbers, materials of construction, dimension verification. Etc.
  • Receipt inspection of required documentation for components according to Purchase Order including, IOM’s, CMTR’s, PMI, MTR’s, Process Data sheets.
  • Vendor Corrections – Work with vendors and purchasing administrator to correct any defective or incorrect components determined through receipt inspection.
  • Material Staging – Stage received components in designated area once they have cleared inspection.
  • Material Issue – Once all material is received and inspected Issue material as need to shop floor for fabrication. Work with shop Forman for issue of material according to fabrication schedule.
  • Document Control – Collect and collate all documents for incoming components including IOM’s, MTR’s CMTR’s, PMI, etc. Work with project engineer to collect these documents and assist in preparation of Project Installation and Operations Manual.

Mechanical Engineer/Piping Designer

Education

  • BSME or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Full understanding of piping design, process flow, Piping & Instrument Diagrams.

Job Description

    Client RFQ Review and Response

  • Read client RFQ’s including P&ID’s, PFD’s, Process descriptions and equipment specifications.
  • Develop Bill of Material list in accordance with RFQ including Process equipment, piping, fittings and structural materials in accordance with client specifications.
  • Work with Electrical Engineering staff to develop electrical scope of work for RFQ.
  • Assess labor hours required for engineering and fabrication of Process System according to RFQ.
  • Develop Total System Cost sheet for all components, Engineering labor and Fabrication Labor.
  • Review Process design, Cost analysis and schedule with management for final Client submittal.
  • Produce Formal Response to client RFQ including descriptions of structure, Piping design, equipment specifications and electrical scope of work.
  • Project Management


  • Review Receipt of Purchase Order and verify acceptance of Order, agreed delivery and Terms and Conditions.
  • Produce Mechanical Drawings with AutoCAD 2012 and Cadworx Plant Professional software.
  • Submit Drawings for approval to client and make changes/corrections upon request.
  • Specify Process equipment through equipment vendors in accordance with client specifications and submit for approval.
  • Develop BOM for materials including Process equipment, Piping and Fittings, Valves and other components.
  • Submit BOM for Purchase to Purchasing Administrator.
  • Manage fabrication of Project through close coordination with client, shop foreman and electrical staff.
  • Perform FAT Testing in accordance with client test specifications.
  • On-site start up assistance if required.
  • Develop Installation, Operation and Maintenance manuals for project.
